Im so bummed...i just called the Stanford Office and found out that none of teh AP classes that I have taken during high school will countt. I always took AP's for the enrichment and did excellent on the tests..it just feels bad that i wont be able to get some credit for it

cheer up, it really isnt that bad. of the 14 APs i took (2 of which I failed haha) I only got credit for math and physics and chem. a lot of kids who get chem credit don't even use it. they forfeit it and take chem 31a/b because many just want to start from the ground up again. others because they're pre-med. For math, you can pretty much take any class you want. AP credit doesnt ACTUALLY matter. they're just markers for where you might want to be after having taken such and such. same with physics. as for english... its better ot start from the bottom. Pyschology... you want to take Psych 1 at Stanford. it's different and better than high school psych. But then again you can take other Intro psych courses (like Intro to Brain and Cognition, or Intro to Perception... without having taken psych1.) pretty much, don't worry about how many units of credit you get from AP or whatever other advanced courses because they dont count for your major (unless you do this special appeal process i think), they won't get you that far ahead. they dont satisfy any GERs or other requirements, soo.. chill. you can pretty much take any classes you'd like, but obviously they assume you've taken the pre-reqs or know the material as well as if you had.
just.. dont worry

This question is for current students at stanford. At my school, each ap test cost $92, so i'm trying to cut cost. By may, I'll be "prepared" to take 5 ap test (bc calc, chem, psych, english literature, microeconomics). Are any of these test necessary or really helpful? I'm thinking about cutting out Econ, english literature and psych.

From my experience, you don't need to take English Lit, but Econ might be helpful if you want to take Econ here just to reinforce your knowledge. The intro Econ classes 1A and 1B move pretty quickly here, and you don't really want to use AP Econ to place into the 50 series unless you feel very confident with your Econ background.

Hmm. To be entirely honest, once you've been accepted, I feel like as long as you know your stuff, it's not absolutely necessary to take the AP tests. But in any case, I would recommend chem and econ. If you want to take econ classes, it'll be better for you having had some exposure, and same with chem. You can skip out of intro chem classes and jump into orgo like I did. Math, I feel is unnecessary, since you can sign up for whatever class you like. That's the thing to keep in mind: there really aren't such things as "pre-requisites" here that are strictly enforced.

is organic chem required if i major in CS or EE?

Nope. Bio/chem majors and pre-meds, generally speaking. Oh, and chemical engineers.
