AP Credit?

HI, im rising senior in high school and im really intreasted in attending UT. I was wondering if i were to recieve a score of a 5 on the chemistry and physics exam would UT make use the credit and jump into more advanced classes, or would i have the option to decline the credit and retake both intro chem and physics?

*** This would help me determine my schedule for next year.
THANK YOU!

Both. They'd give you credit for chem and physics if you wanted it, but they'd also give you an option to turn it down and take those classes at the university.

My advice: If you get a 5, you have shown that you have clearly mastered the material. Physics 1 and Chem 1 are big classes at UT, take the credit as you will most likely have a harder time mastering their material.

well the thing is i want to go premed so i would still have to take two years of chem and a year of physics since med school dosent accept AP credit, and if i were to skip intro i would have to make more advanced classes ( physics II/III and go right into Organic chem as a freshman thus lowering my gpa). Thats why i was thinking if i were to get a 5 i would retake intro chem and physics

All med schools in Texas accept credit by examination (AP) for premed reqs.
The advisers said that usually only high-end schools (Harvard, etc.) want you to actually take the premed courses in college.

I'm going to take Chem again, simply because I'm very weak in it. However, I'm using my AP credit for the chem lab portion.
