I’m a sophomore in HS and I’m wondering about my science credits. I want to be in pre-med at UT-Austin. I also really enjoy all sciences but I don’t know if I can take the work load? I have really good work ethnics.
I want to take AP Chem and AP Bio. I’m planning to take Anatomy and Physiology at local community college in my senior year. (Will this count as credit at UT?) I also will take dual credit Physics in my junior year. I was planning to take AP bio junior year with physics, and maybe AP Chem senior year with A&P?
What should you suggest? Too much?
I think it really depends on what your other courses are. I am also planning on pre-med and I am going to take IB courses in biology and chemistry then take advantage of my school’s early leave policy to take a college course at a local college. Does your school have a program like that? Most colleges will take credits from community colleges. Are you planning on doing labs with the community college courses? If so that increases the rigor substantially.
Yeah, I’m taking classes at my local college. Currently, I’m getting the basics and other classes for a lighter class load for my junior and senior. I will be taking AP Eng in my junior year but that’s probably the ‘hardest’ class in those two years besides the sciences. But at my college, only physics and A&P (both with lab) are offered as dual credit, though I don’t know if A&P will take credit.
