Hello again! I got a 5 on one of my AP English tests, and hope to use it to place out one of my two First Year Writing Seminars. I've already made my schedule, and I really don't want my FWS to be in the first semester. Can I exempt myself from the first semester one and take one in the second semester? And if so, do I still need to submit my ballot in a few weeks, or can I do that when everyone chooses their second semester courses? Thanks in advance!

I also need to know this so if anyone can give us a hint, we’ll definitely by very grateful.

Great, thanks!

You can actually choose not to take your FWS(s) during your freshman year. You can take them whenever, as long as you get them done before you graduate. I wish someone had told me that -_-.

Sidenote: the FWS classes are a great way to meet people from outside your majors so that might be something to consider as well
