Kind of a general question

if I pass all of my AP exams this year (i think i will) and include my credits earned last year I'll have 27 credits going into MSU in the fall. does having this many credits actually help that much? for example, can i take a semester off, double major, etc? i reaaaaaaaallly want to double major in two completely different things. i'm mostly just worried that the credits will just be there and i'll still have to take a different load of required classes.

Thanks!!!

It depends. Yes, the credits are nice to have- allows you take smaller course loads, double major, have higher status for better course selections (you get to pick your courses earlier), etc. But it really depends on the type of classes. For example, half of my credits I came in with were useless because they were not related to my majors and didn’t count for university reqs. They’re really, really nice though if they get you out of core courses (ISB, ISS, etc) or if they satisfy major requirements.

There’s really no bad part to having them as far as I know.
