Well, we were supposed to take the Literature test... and then our guidance counselor ordered the Language test by mistake. So, that's what we ended up taking.

We read:
Frankenstein
Beowulf
A Christmas Carol
Hamlet
Much Ado About Nothing
A Tale of Two Cities
The Rime of the Ancient Mariner
excerpt from Sir Gawain the Green Knight
excerpt from L'Morte De Arthur (er, I believe that was the title)

For AP Lit. this past year I read:
(Among many many many others)

*House on Mango Street
*The Awakening
Crime and Punishment
Hamlet
*Macbeth
Dinner at the Homesick Resturant
Importance of Being Ernest
*Pride and Prejudice

(*Asterik indicates it’s actually good.)

But the best and most helpful book, and my top recommendation is:
The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver.
Although it’s a bit lengthy, it works well for a lot of different AP prompts. It’s very versatile, and wonderful story. I’d also recommend rereading a book from your previous honors class, like Gatsby, because that also helps a lot. Good luck with your AP class!
