Did anyone take this AP? Is it hard? Easy? I'm contemplating taking it since I'm taking the class at school this year.

The AP Exam is really easy, don't worry about it. You should definitley take it if you can do reading comprehension questions and write essays.

I found the test annoying because I did really well on the MC practice sections that we did and was a strong writer according to my teacher and ended up with a three on the exam. :( Then again, I didn't study for it at all and I took the class first semester.

It was honestly pretty similar to the SAT (verbal passages and open-ended writing essay), except longer. This year's exam had two open-ended questions (at least in my opinion) and only one essay that called for passage analysis and technique analysis. Haven't got my score back yet (woohoo--I'm cheap!), but I thought the exam was fairly easy overall. I'd recommend taking it--you might be able to knock out some freshman intro. English classes in college.

I didn't think the exam was too bad. The last passage of the MC was pretty difficult, but that's usually the case (from the practice tests that I've seen). The essays were different than they have been in the past (one was analyzing an article from "the Onion," for instance), but overall not to bad.

Adversely, this is the exam that I probably felt most confident walking out of, yet it was my only 4 (not a bad score, but I definitely expected a 5). The only thing I can imagine is that I didn't use enough evidence in my response to Question 3, and that lowered what would have, otherwise, been a good essay score. Oh well - just keep in mind when you take the test that you need to support your argument as much as possible. You should be fining taking it, though.

i think this it is definitely an exam that you don't need to "learn" anything for. it tests pretty general concepts that you know and learn naturally. the one thing you can probably actually study for though are all the literary terms that are good for essays and show up on M/C
