I plan to be a bio major in college and am having a problem on weather or not to take honors physics or AP lit, I'll take the regular of the one I don't choose to take. Which would be more beneficial for a future bio major?

Physics H but both would be more beneficial.

Bio, you say? AP Lit might give you a grounding on analyzing reading, as you will do a lot of that bio, but you can't go wrong with physics. You choice, ultimately.

Well here would be the two schedules
With AP Lit:
AP Chemistry
AP Calculus AB
AP Literature
Physics (regular)
Wildlife Biology
Medical Terminology
Computer Technology

With Physics H:
AP Chemistry
AP Calculus AB
Physics H
Wildlife Biology
Language Arts
Medical Terminology
College Communications
Computer Technology
does one look better for a future bio major? Which is better college prep?

what type of biology are you interested in? that could help. pre-med?

but i think you'd have a really solid schedule either way. If it were between AP Lit and AP Chem, I'd definitely say AP Chem. AP English will help you though for college english, and especially with writing (which is so central in college). Plus, I'm guessing lower-level bio classes in college won't require physics (bearing in mind i know nothing of bio), so you can always take physics early then.

well, i'm completely biased but anyways
i applied as a bio major to all my schools

i took both physics h and ap english lit. i HATED physics with a passion. i'm taking ap english this year and it's amazing. lol... might be personal judgement but here's my thinking

most colleges and universities require you to take a 'freshman composition' class. EVEN though schools who boast 'open curriculum'!, they want to know you're a solid writer. so do well on the ap lit exam and get waived out of that class, and you'll be free to take as many bio cores as you want in replacement and finish up your major reqs early :) or physics, but i find that physics in hs is pretty meh and probably not as indepth as college anyways. on the other hand, i heard freshman comp is a grueling class with just basically papers everyday...

i would take ap lit. Improving one's english skills is esssential no matter what major.

^^^ I will probably focus on genetics.

AP Lit. You REALLY need English skills in college.

take physics

english classes don't improve your skills whatsoever

Take whichever one interests you more. You'll most likely have to take some sort of English/composition class in college. If physics is very important for the area of biology you will be studying, rest assured you will take that class in college as well.

It depends. To some people, regular and honors physics is easy (like me). You don't learn too much more in H physics so why not take AP lit and H physics?

So take regular physics...
