Ap English lit vs college English

This is actually a question my rising senior friend was wondering, but I figured I'd ask here since it'll apply to me in a year.

Starting next year, in addition to ap English the school will offer college English. Apparently the classes are weighted the same, both fulfill the graduation requirement, and the college credit is transferable to certain California colleges (mostly community), and you can always take the ap test even after taking the college English class. Is one more favorable to colleges than the other?(normally I don't ask this question, but since its about a core class idc.) Personally, I'm leaning towards the college class because my favorite teacher is teaching it, but will it not as good as someone who took ap English?

AP will generally be regarded as better because it’s more standardized. But no college would reject you solely on the basis of that, so if you have a reason for taking the college class over the AP class I’d say go for it. And take the AP test.
