nothing came up when I googled it...

Interesting bit about the owl question...whoever said "this was not a zoology exam" is most certainly correct, as even a zoologist would have missed this question. My study of languages shows that different cultures actually interpret animal sounds differently.

Here in America a dog makes the "bark, bark" sound
Hispanic speakers hear the dog make the "gua, gua, gua" sound
in my native Russia our dogs go "lai, lai, lai"...

My conclusion..College Board knows how to pick their questions

ps who wrote the owl piece?

all right-- enough: The Bluest Eye

OMG The Bluest Eye? My AP teacher is going to be so happy, she loves Morrison. I can't remember the last passage now. Someone refresh my memory?

this owl question is killing us-- I think CB purposely does one funky question so all our attention is focused on it, and not on the rest..... and I bet you anything they it's actually the random answer :)

Not scowl, few, hoot, but..... (what was it?)

meh, the only morrison I know is adam morrison...

Read Toni Morrison Wilmingtonwave. She has won the Nobel prize. We read Sula this year, and Beloved last year. You may know Beloved because Oprah made a crappy movie out of it.

Oh, even if they invalidate it won't matter that much...yeah, you'll have wasted $85 and ppl (like the principal) will get mad at you but a guy 2 years ago from our school opened his APUSH FR booklet up before break and the whole room had to take the APUSH over again AND he still went to Berkeley. I actually thought the last passage was hard!

was the first sonnet Shakespeare?

holy **** u guys had to retake APUSH? sucksssss

oh we only had to pay 52 dollars. our school paid the rest of the 85 dollars for us.

it was describing the old store that the Breedloves lived in, how gypsies once decorated it, etc

Beloved--about slavery right, yea that rings a bell. I'll check it out--thanks for the suggestion. That passage was def interesting.

Yeah seriously, it would be complete bull if they did, because EVERYONE talks about it. You can't single us out! I probably didn't get a 4 or 5 anyway, so it will be useless :)

Yeah. That really was Toni Morrison. Her style. I should have recognized it. I wanna email my teacher but she is home sick because she fractured her spine. Maybe I shouldn't bother her. =

Yea, the first sonnet was pretty sweet because we analyzed that poem in class this year. I was just smiling when I saw that.

hehe, not me. class 2 years before. yeah, it sucked cuz it was after the summer in like september of senior year.

No, it was a contemporary of Shakespeare tho. (1st sonnet) - Michael Drayton

I would e-mail her-- nice thought, she'll get excited as all english teachers do.

so, um, is this all the AP you have?

no.
i have bio, us gov, macroecon next week.
i had calc and french this week.

Lol, my English teacher would like kill me if I did that...she's seriously brutal...every time she walks out of the classroom, the nicest guy (you know the type, the nice Christian boy who loves his mommy) in class always screams "I have dibs on killing her!" and then we try to figure out ways to lock her out, to hit her over the head with her own 12-lb goose iron...

EDIT: small town girl: yes! last AP! ever! thank God! :)

Took AP English Language w/o the class, thought it was easy. Have Psych coming up. My teacher is an idiot. I'm screwed.
