AP English Literature - Help?

Did well on all of the essays except the second. My open essay was great. I think I got a 5 and would be shocked if I got below a 4.

But, we'll see.

My teacher told me it'd be an easy 5, but I'm not so sure anymore. The MC was easy, but I hated the essays. The second topic was fine, but the first topic was annoying. None of the books I had in mind fit the third topic, so I had to pull that one out of my @$$. I'll see, I guess.

hey, the beginning town/village where Pip grew up in Great Expectations was the country... right???

Close enough I hope..

Overall, it's like Calculus AB - easier than I assumed

I really hope I got a 5. At first I felt like crying because neither of the books I prepared fit Question 3, but then I pulled King Lear out of my butt on it. I analyzed it really well, I just hope I didn't get any of the events or people messed up. Wasn't it Edgar who was naked with Lear? Well anywho, they other two essays weren't as bad, I did really well on both. The test was really nothing I expected though, I thought there would be 4 passages and my teacher kept telling us that the poetry would likely be C+C, but it wasn't. It was helpful though that the 2nd essay was by an author I knew. I hope the rest of you did really well and good luck to all taking AP USH tomorrow!

anybody else do this? I read the free resonse and some how go it in my mind that they wanted A country, like England or Spain or Russia or something... so I sat there for 5 minutes going what kind of a question is this... this is absolute b.s. then I reread the quesiton and was like Ohhhhhhhhh! I get it! By the way, I wrote about The Secret Life of Bees... what about you?

Haha, I attempted to write about Wuthering Heights...but uh...the only name I could remember was Heathcliff....so when attempting to describe relationships it sounded something like "heathcliff's second son fell in love with his former lovers daughter" as you can expect the essay got really messy. Other than that I thought it wasn't too bad...the MC was insanely easy.

have any of you heard of the book "Things Fall Apart" by Chinua Achebe? I thought it was perfect for essay 3.

PrincessPaige76 -- I actually wrote on a country!!! Like, an actual geographic-political COUNTRY. Why wouldn't they say 'rural' if they wanted "a country setting." That made no sense to me. Oh, well. I wrote The Things They Carried and related the story to the landscape. It was an AWESOME essay, but I'm guessing I'll get a 3 for misinterpreting the prompt. Ugh. =(

Well, I felt like this was a fairly standard AP Lit test. I feel good about it, and that's about all I'll say for now.

Haha I did the same thing, I took it to mean a nation. Oh well, I seriously don't think they can penalize you if it was well written and you answered the question sufficiently.

i felt that fahrenheit 451 fit the 3rd one pefectly, even though it is a pretty low reading level, my ap teacher approved it for an indpendent novel...so i used it

I wish I felt as good about the test as all of you. I don't think I did too well on the MC, my first essay was pretty bad, the second was actually pretty good, and the third- well, I don't know.

All I can say is: FREE AT LAST!

how about Oedipus Rex for the third one. i thought that worked well. i wrote about 3 pages on it.

rofl at essays 1 and 2. hahah worst essays i've ever written in my life

I had no idea on essay #1. Wow, that was confusing.

my 1 was average at best, 2 was simply urgh, 3 was spankin' I think =)

Im predicting a 3. Whatever who gives a **** anyway Im going to college in a few months. If I wouldve studied maybe I couldve done better

I'm pretty sure I got a 3...my multiple choice was average for me, my first two essays were fantastic and I BOMBED the last question, but I knew I would cuz I barely prepped for it at all. I pulled somethin out of my butt about Samuel Butler's Erewhon. My friend wrote about 1984 because it occurs in "a country"...what a poorly phrased prompt

Actually, what does "a country" really mean?
