AP English Literature - Help?

I kicked buttocks on the first essay the last two essays...thats another story. I fell asleep for like 10 minutes and then I kept napping every 2 minutes. The multiple choice wasn't that bad but the the poem about Rafael. ***?

for the third essay prompt i believe it was written "THE" country instead of "A" country..furthermore, you college-level students could have easily deducted what the damn prompt meant just by looking at the novel suggestions..As I Lay Dying, East of Eden, Midsummer Night's Dream, etc..
college board will laugh at you

I wrote about the forest in the scarlet letter. I thought the meant like jungleish not rural. Oh well. I'm an idiot. I can't believe college confidential blocks out W T F.

Woot a lot of people wrote about jungles too.

yeah, i agree with cincy. the key was "THE" country. i used ethan frome which i tend to write about for everything even though i read it beginning of junior year. couldn't remember mattie silver's name but it probably won't matter. would like a 5 but i think i got a 4.

please allow me to clear this up once and for all..according to dictionary.com:

n. pl. coun·tries

1)A nation or state.
The territory of a nation or state; land.
T he people of a nation or state; populace: The whole country will profit from the new economic reforms.
2)The land of a person's birth or citizenship: Foreign travel is restricted in his country.

In the context of the prompt, 4 is the most acceptable as it is a COUNTRY SETTING...3 might have a shot..the rest are about as acceptable as 6

Did anyone else use "Madame Bovary" for the third essay? That's one of my favorite books and I was so glad when I saw it on the list. I was actually freaking out when I first read the question, but after reading it again, I understood it and I knew that it was the perfect book. As for essay 1, I had no clue what I was doing; I just used some literary devices and I think I did ok on essay 2. I def. was not prepare enough for the multiple choice and thats partly because my teacher did not spend a lot of time on that; damn socratic seminars. LOL. Best of luck to everyone else, I think and hope that I got a 3!
