Hi, I'm a freshman and I'm currently debating whether I should take AP english during my junior and senior year... So, I've got some questions, yay!

My freshman schedule (All A's for grades):
Marching Band (1st semester)
Drama 1
Advanced Band
Algebra 2 Honors
Biology
Japanese 1
English 1 Honors

Planned Sophmore schedule:
Marching Band (1st semester)
Golf
Wind Ensemble
Pre-Calculus Honors
Chemstry Honors
Japanese 2
English 2 (Honors?)

1)I'm for sure taking math and science AP/honors classes for the rest of high school, so how long would you say the workload should be? I know that this is different for every school, but will I have to stay up late because golf/band?
2)How difficult is the workload? I barely got a 90.1% 1st semester, but that's probably because of procrastination.
3)How doable is taking 3 AP classes at the same time? Very difficult? Exhausting due to homework?

Any help would be appreciated!

I wouldn’t be stressing over what classes you’ll be taking in two to three years. A lot of things change. Workload could be about an hour and a half to an hour a night for AP math/ sciences. Erm…three APs aren’t hard. I’m taking five right now and the workload isn’t desired. That’s why I’m taking 3. It’s the perfect amount that you can stay challenged but you can run off and have fun.

I would definitely recommend taking AP English Language & Literature.

Ps, where are your social studies classes?

Yay, Japanese! こんにちは!

Cool, thanks for the input! I’ve talked to my counselor and now I just have to get a recommendation from my current english teacher.

Philosophe: I’m taking history over the summer so I can take band and golf at the same time.

If your school lets you, I think you should try to get one AP class in sophomore year so you’re not cramming 3-4 APs junior and senior years. Maybe AP Psych or Human geo? Those are commonly referred to as the easiest APs.
