OH YA, believe me, it is definitively acceptable. it’s a definite “point” if that’s what your wondering. There have been some crappy thesis, and some with no thesis whatsoever. So they will accept it. it’s a “5-6” thesis. in order to write a 7+ thesis paper, you would have needed deep analysis, embedded quotation to elevate your thesis, and even complex diction/syntax to show maturity in writing

for my DBQ i had an intro(1) 3 body paragraphs(4) and an analytically conclusion(5) so 5 paragraphs.

for one of my frq’s i also had 5 paragraphs( 3 body) and the other 4 paragraphs (2 body).

^^ yeah I had a lot to say about equality… So I spilt in two (gender & social class)

my three body paragraphs were all equally lengthy, and well written, so if it’s one essay im confident about, it would be my DBQ XD are you guys going to pay to get your exam score early?

^^^ wait! lol would splitting the equality into gender and social class be right? xP

I’m not… Lol i don’t think I did well on my AP exams T. T

it wouldn’t be wrong, there were quite a few of female documents and distinct social classes. I personally wouldn’t have made them into paragraphs. I definitely talked about both gender and social classes in my paragraphs and tied them back to my thesis and analysis, but it seems too tedious to focus two entire paragraphs on those two aspect for me. If it worked for you that’s great! remember, not all DBQ’s are going to be written the same. They’re looking for quality essays that analyzed prompt’s focus, and showed skills in applying documents to support that analysis. So as long as your analysis wasn’t bizarre, you should be good :DD

what other ap exams did you have?

AP Art History. That exam murdered me D’:

oh ouch. I liked the small portion of the art that we had to learn for AP euro, but AP Art history would murder me too 0.0 what does the class focus on?

I love the class <333

But I seriously expected a 4/5 on the exam & now I don’t even know if I pass D’:

The class is mostly about art movements that tie back to european history, which is cool. YOU SHOULD TAKE IT :D

( My dirty little secret is that i would LOVE to take art history) BUT my current AP Euro teacher advised us not to, well she discretely opposes the class. I think she sees it as a waste of a spot for another AP class that might be more beneficial. GAH, i’ll have to see what to do. What are you btw ( grade wise)

What do you think? *wink

BUT don’t listen to your teacher. That class allows you to explore so many fascinating things. It’s definitely not a waste. It’s beneficial and interesting. I 100% positive everyone loves that class. Not taking that class will be your lost.

@MisterMIT

My thesis was generally based on what my teacher taught us of just grouping, either Facts or Docs depending on wether its a DBQ or FRQ (she used to, or still is an AP Reader). My thesis for the Technology one was somewhere along the lines of "Technological advancements during the late 15th and 16th centuries lead to the increase of state power because of larger economic income from increased trade, larger political influence and national prestige, as well as a larger control over the people.

For these i talked about the 3 mast ship, Vasco da Gama, Christopher Columbus, Incas and Aztec gold/silver, beginnings of mercantilism, the printing press (which i tied in with the Protestant Reform and Henry VIII). Im not sure how i feel about the outcome of the essays, generally i feel like i flunked them and then turns out i did well.

What did you guys use for thesis on 7? the one on Decolonization? Would Ho Chi Minh count as a factor towards French decolonization in Indochina?

^^ I put Ho chin min, but idk I’m so dumb it’s even funny XP

for the decolonization one, it sounded too “AP World”, and though i did awesome in world essays, they tend to be very “practical”, so for Euro i made sure to run away from any FRQ that I knew I would write like a World essay. I did 2 &5. as for your thesis thesoxpride10, i only saw one technological advancement in your thesis( the printing press), but you had an awesome analysis on it’s contribution to state power. Did you include any other technological advancements? and did you tie them back to a specific nation/state power and how it contributed to it? I used the introduction of gunpowder and infantry/artillery, embedded siege cannons in naval armies, and of course the printing press.

yes the 3 mast ship (for which i tied it with Prince Henry the Navigator) (1) Astrolabe and Compass which i forgot to include above (2 and 3) as well as the Printing Press (5)

awesome, seems like you have it then hope you guys get the score your seeking!

I hope the same for you as well, MisterMIT. What grade are you in?
