Here’s a consolidated list of review books that have worked for countless people. Hopefully it should help you too. I personally didn’t like Essential Concepts. I thought AMSCO helped me a lot more. Just my personal opinion. Best of luck.

I thought Euro was a lot easier. The content is a lot more interesting and more general than APUSH topics.
I studied a ton for APUSH, and got a 4. For Euro I only studied that morning and got a 5. Probably because I retain information that I am interested in, so think about what interests you!

So you’ve used the book and still don’t even know the title of the book?

Are you slamming The Essential Content just to promote AMSCO ?

Hey! I am also self-studying euro. I have purchased Modern European History and Crash Course. Both seem like great books. I will also use online powerpoints and youtube documentaries when I get lazy. I will probably buy PR before the test for some extra prep and practice tests. I self-studied both ap econs this year as a freshman. I used 5 Steps, PR, and online videos and cram guides. Read 5 Steps a few times, PR once for quick review(took me about an hour), and then use ACDCLeadership’s videos and study guide on youtube. That was the best stuff. Then take a ton of practice tests. I self-studied it in one week. I hopefully got a 5 on both, but could have gotten a 4 on micro. Doing the above stuff should give u easy 5s. I am also self-studying world history this year. Any tips? I have the crash course book.

@ IceQube: Sorry, I did mean Essential Content. And no, I am not “slamming” the book; I believe I said I personally found AMSCO more useful. It was only my opinion, not an end all be all bashing case you made for AMSCO. I never called Essential Content “trash”.

I’m throwing in another recommendation for AMSCO. Although, as IceQube implies, it can be a bit long-winded, it teaches you much more than you need to know, so if you have a good memory, the test becomes very easy, as you can start pulling out facts that not many people would be able to.

I would recommend Modern European History for Euro.
