AP EXAM: Calc AB and Calc BC

So… I had some questions about AP classes.

I’ve so far taken/taking 8 AP classes.

  • AP Calculus AB
  • AP Calculus BC
  • AP Physics 1
  • AP Physics C
  • AP World History
  • AP Gov
  • AP Biology
  • AP Chemistry

I received 4 for both AP Calc AB and BC exam. So, I’m planning on retaking them this year because I know that many high-ranking colleges usually only accept an AP score of 5. I know AB and BC tests are offered on the same day. If I want to take both tests what should I do? Do you think taking both AB and BC tests are necessary?

I’m also planning on self-studying for some AP exams to meet my goal of 10 AP courses. Are there any easy AP courses to self-study or any AP courses that high-ranking colleges recommend?

Thanks!

You are not allowed to take both AB and BC exams in the same year. The BC exam has an AB subscore

Easy and recommended are mutually exclusive. Top colleges know what the easy ones are.

Do you mean score 5 for college credit?
For admission, I don’t think even top college care too much on AP score 4 vs 5.
There is no point to bring Cal AB to 5 if you can bring Cal BC to 5.

Self study for AP exams would not necessarily impress Admission Officer.

I guess you are a junior. Be productive to your EC an college essay. Don’t worry about AP Cal anymore.
