AP exam scores

Am I required to submit an AP score?
I signed up for an AP and now realized that I have a tight schedule and there is no way in the world I would be able to follow up the course and be able to study for it, I also don’t want to cancel the test. Anyways, am I required to submit my AP score?
Do Canadian or American universities check or ask for my score? Do they have to know I’ve taken the exam?

No; AP scores on the Common App is optional. You can report any/all/none of them.

If the class appears on your transcript as an AP class, and you did not report the score, it is possible that colleges will think that you took the test and scored badly. Alternatively, they may think that finances may have prevented you from taking the AP exam, or some other reason. It is possible (rare, but possible) that a college will contact you or your GC for further explanation.

Thanks, I actually thought I’d be able to self-study the subject but wasn’t able to in the end. My school doesn’t offer any AP classes/courses, yet I still signed up for an AP exam. Is that a disadvantage or will colleges not find out about it anyways?

Colleges will not know (or care) if you self studied a course, not will they know if you signed up to take the exam.
