confusion about the ap scores

okay so i know ap scores are coming up but i was curious about some things.
first, some background: i took an ap exam this may but i was pretty sick and i came out thinking i didn't do as well as i wanted to. so i filed a cancellation request, but i'm not sure they got my request. (i did not know there was 'late testing')

so, my question:
if i get a bad score, will colleges see it if i retake the exam and get, say, a 5? or is there a way where i can prevent colleges from seeing this year's scores? i don't want my record to be bad.

other than that, good luck everybody! :)

On the common app it is generally known that you self report scores.

You just need to self report AP scores for school applications. You submit the scores to the school you are admitted and decided to go. It does not really matter if you have a subject scored bad.
