AP Exams 2011!

puggly - awesome! that sounds like fun (i’m a dork  ). maybe ill do psych too. i’ll talk to my guidance counselor - i know he’ll call me insane…oh well.
knowing me ill end up with 5s on self studied science-y ones and failing history and comp
(just kidding…but i will end up doing better on science)

I’ve noticed that a lot of seniors here are still self-studying tests. I know there a probably a million threads on this but the verdict is that’s there’s no benefit to self-studying senior college-admissions-wise right? This is all for the college credit/interest factor right?

^Yeah, for the most part.

AP World History
AP Chemistry
AP Calculus AB (maybe BC)
AP U.S. Gov’t & Politics
AP Psychology

AP Calculus AB, AP Physics C: M, and AP English Literature. I wanted to take AP Spanish and AP Gov’t and Politics but they’re the same period as Physics and Calculus, respectively. I’m pretty upset…

Senior:
AP Calc BC
AP Bio
AP Spanish

not a lot by CC standards, but all my schools courses are taught on honors level and they restrict APs (none until junior, even then only 2 for juniors)

Hmmm…this is most likely my final list, since I’ve been thinking about it since February:

Exams I’m taking classes for…
IB:
History of the Americas HL
Math SL (it’s dumb…my school doesn’t offer HL)
Physics HL
English HL

AP:
Calculus AB
Spanish Language

Self-studying…
AP:
Art History
Micro
Macro
Literature

It’ll be a fun year…not. :P

^ Do you know anyone who has self-studied art history? It sounds very interesting but I was not planning on doing it bc there are no review books, along with other problems. So I was jw if you knew how that worked out for anyone else.

AP English Literature
AP English Language (self study I guess)
AP Spanish Language
AP Spanish Literature
AP French Language
AP Statistics (if I get into the class)
AP Calculus AB/BC (don’t know yet, depends… since I will be taking a college class in it but not the actual AP class)
AP Psychology (same as AP Calculus, but it’s much more self study-able so I guess so)
AP Human Geography (I guess I could self-study it)

I will (hopefully) be taking AP Chem, AP Human Geography, and AP English Language. It depends if my schedule works out (five classes that only have one class…not my best decision). Then, if I end up in honors psychology, I’ll try to convince my guidance councilor to let me self study that.

@sophomore: I’ll be doing that next year. Check out ‘The Annotated Mona Lisa’.

Ah, next year is going to be FUN:

Classes:
AP Lit
AP US Gov
AP Comparative Gov
AP Micro
AP Macro
AP Environmental

Self:
AP Euro
AP Art History

Anyone wanna self-study Music Theory w/ me :P? W/ no or little music background. Or the same with a super tough language?

That would probably be a bad idea.

That would be a very bad idea. I would rather self study Physics C with no prior knowledge than Music.

Music Theory with a extensive music background is probably already quite difficult (which is what I plan to do). I think that self-studying Music Theory with little music background would be trying to self-study a completely foreign language for 1 year and taking an AP test on it.

Haha, Next [junior] year is going to be epic:

Classes:
AP Physics C
AP U.S. History
AP Statistics
Pre-AP English (no test until sr. year but still counts as AP on transcript =D)

Self:
AP Psychology
AP US GOV.
AP Calculus AB (maybe just to help out with AP physics. I want to wait for BC)

Classes…

AP Literature
AP Statistics
AP Environmental
AP Gov’t
AP Macroeconomics
AP Music Theory

I might self-study for Microeconomics and Comparative Gov’t

Junior year!

Classes:

AP Statistics
AP Chemistry
AP US History
AP Music Theory

Self-Study:

AP Physics C: Mech
AP Physics C: E&M
AP Calculus BC
<maybe ap=“” psych?=“”>
<maybe ap=“” english=“” language?=“”></maybe></maybe>

Should I start studying for APUSH in the summer? I hear it’s a lot of memorization, which I’m not really good with. (I had to study for hours for each biology test last year.)

Soph Year:
AP Euro

Jr Year:
AP US
AP Calc AB
AP French
AP Human Geo (Self-study)

(NEXT YEAR) Sr Year:
AP Biology
AP Lang
AP Gov
AP Macroecon

I just really see no point in self-studying my senior year, as colleges won’t see it, I won’t end up earning too many worthy university credits with EnviSci or Psych, and it’s senior year and I have a life.

Next year: Senior! (Already took us and world history, physics b and english lit)

AP Calculus BC
AP Chemistry
AP Computer Science
AP Macroecon
AP US Gov
AP English Lang

Self studies:
None! Too lazy ftw :)

Next Year as a Senior:

AP English Literature
AP Calculus AB
AP Art History

and I was going to take AP US Government as well, but classes got moved around and I ended up taking Latin V instead.
