AP Exams for admissions?

So, I have a peculiar predicament. I took 3 AP's this year at my school and got the following grades:

AP Calc AB: B
AP Stats: B+
AP Chem: C

but I got a 5 AB subscore on the BC test, 5 on the stats exam, and 5 on the chem exam. Also, I self studied a bunch of tests and got 3s, 4s, and 5s (5 english language, 4 english lit, 3 computer science A).

Now I'm wondering, will my AP grades help compensate for my school grades somewhat in admissions or no? Will the fact I self-studied a bunch help me, too?

i would think that your ap scores would help compensate and that self studying will help you... i mean of course they would rather see an A and a 5 but still.

on the other hand they could take it as you were a slacker in the class.
