Will poor AP Exam scores reduce my chance for admission in Ivy League schools & other schools in the top 20?

You can choose which AP scores to report on the Common Application, although if you request your AP scores sent to colleges, they will see all of them. Generally, you should not report failing grades (1-2), but if they appear on your high school transcript there is not much you can do.

Can somebody please confirm this? There is never a definite answer for this.

Do ivy league schools look down upon not reporting ap scores? What about 3s and 4s?

@Cavatappi: If they’re not on our transcript and we don’t report them, are we fine?

You are asking a bunch of people who don’t truly know the answer. We have guesses, but if you really want to know how College X feels about something, you have to call the admissions office and hope they give you a straight answer.

yeah i am interested in the answer to this as well, how much weight do colleges put on AP exams, some people have told me a lot, some have told me little to none.

i did not report my scores and got into princeton

There has been some people on CC who scored like 1’s and 2’s and they were still accepted into the top universities, including the Ivy League.
