AP French Rubric

None of the French books have a formula for determining 3,4,5. Is there a website or any other book you guys may have that does this for you??

I was curious about this too.

IRAN.4, how/how much did you prepare for the exam? I'm really worried about it...

I need to know this too. My teacher (for our mock exam) gave us an old AP test, but he didn't have a scale for us. He assumed anything above 90% is a 5 but how can this be true? For most APs a 5 is around 75% max.

I'm rather worried now.

Yeah it's more like 60% for 5 considering they heavily curve language tests....

No rubric ANYWHERE???

i cant find it either! anyone know a good site for conjugation help, tho? I don't have time to get a study guide, and that's all i need to brush up on.

why dont any of the books have a rubric?? this is retarded

I agree this is retarded.

Does anyone have any idea? If a 90% is a 5, as my teacher says, then that's pretty darn hard to get. I mean, of course it's a 5, but we want to know the entire range. If only 90% and above is a 5 then this exam is extremely tough.

The curve changes evey year, but I have the one from 1998 right here:

5- 121-160
4- 106-120
3- 82-105
2- 59-81
1- 0-58

If you want the specifics on how many points each section is worth:
Listening- 40 points
Reading Comprehension- 40 points
Function Words- 8 points
Verbs- 8 points
Essay- 24 points
Oral- 40 points (20 for each part)

Again, it changes slightly every year, but this is just to give you a general idea of what you need to get a 5. Hope this helps!

121/160 = 75.625%

Reasonable.

Thanks =)

Is this really correct?

Yes, it looks about right to me; it's reasonable.

anyone other than me not so enthusiastic about the speaking portion of the test?

BTW do you have 15minutes to prepare for the oral, or only 5minutes?

I'm not enthusiastic at all. You get 1.5 minutes to prepare 3 questions, and another 1.5 to prepare 2.

If you want you could pm me your msn/aim ID and we could prep together for the oral :P

i would love to prep for the oral (or anything else) with anyone who wants to.

AIM: ambryllien

heh... you can tell how creative I am.

No less creative than I am ;)

jeez i'm gonna fail. :( oral is the only part i was really worried about and i thought it wasn't worth that much...don't kno why i thought that, maybe wishful thinking? :D

oral sucks. I hate it. XD

Is it me or are the readings really hard to understand??

the readings ARE really hard, but i find that if you practice them they get a lot easier. on the last test i took, i only got 4 questions out of 42 wrong on the readings. :-P i got 7 out of 33 on the listening wrong, though...

ha, i see you guys are hoping for a 5. I am hoping for a 3 :D but i'm actually not even really hoping for that, cuz then it will give me the motivation to take, and pass, the clep test.
