Can someone please tell me their feelings for AP Human Geography and AP Environmental Science? Could they be self-studied? How is the difficulty for each? Any input will help.

Your help is really appreciated!!! :)

I self studied both during sophomore year and got 5's. Geography is definitely doable (use the barron's book). Environmental science is difficult b/c there is so much information that is covered. Only ~9% of ppl get 5's. It is self-studiable, but it is a different league than geo. (and don't use barrons for environment sci--i dropped it halfway b/c it really sucked)

For Human Geo: first, be prepared to answer questions from fellow classmates - "what the heck is human geography?" Take human geo if you're passionate about history and have other history stuff (EC's, classes), else admissions people will think you're using it to pad your resume since it's so easy of a test.

For Environ Sci: again, the same problem as above - take if you have other science AP's to show that you're passionate about science.

Both exams take equal amounts of time to study for, I think - the tests contain an incredible amount of concepts and terms to memorize. Use barron's for human geo, and smartypants AND barrons (more information) for environ sci.
