AP Government & Politics or regular Econ/Politics ???

I was recommended for AP Government & Politics by my teacher and dropped it before the end of the year as I always do. I regret my decision and have considered putting back. I just am unsure what to do. I know I am smart enough to do this. I have spoken with all of my past history teachers and they all believe I will do very well. I also spoke with the teacher of the course who is very willing to work with me. What do you guys think? Do those who do well in history do well in Government & Politics? Is this class difficult, specially as a first AP history? Is it even doable along with AP Lit , APES, Honors Physics, and Statistics? Not to mention with a job, sports & college apps? I only took one AP before this along with two honors and that was Psychology, needless to say that class was joke. My honors chemistry and regular American history courses were even worse. Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

AP Gov can be ridiculously easy for people who are really into government (and thereby already know most of the content taught), and insanely difficult and tedious for people who have no interest in government. The workload is entirely dependent on what kind of teacher you had (I know my workload for gov was probably the lightest of all AP classes, including the ones I took online). Ask some students who took it last year to see how much effort you’d have to put in.

In my opinion, the content is easy, and I believe that I could’ve taken it in ninth grade. (Of course, that’s me, probably the only person on this forum who is decent at STEM stuff and excellent at the social studies.) If social studies is totally your thing, it should be good for you. If not, it may not be the best idea.

Social Studies right behind English is my best subject. I was recommended for AP every year but always dropped it before leaving for summer break. (I actually had a grade way into the 100’s at one point in my regular world class). My brother had a schedule similar to mine his senior year and thinks AP Gov’t is worth it (although he is a political buff while i’m more of an American/maritime history buff). Students who took it said it was hard and the teacher does not teach. However I talked to the teacher he said it is mainly reading and some writing As well is a lot of memorization (which I am really good with). He is also willing to help if I show some effort on my end. Its just this is political science not APUSH (which I would have been fine with)

@nhdmaniac I thought your username was familiar you answered my other questions. well then thanks again!
