AP Grades and Transfers

Is anyone aware of how much weight is put on AP grades and sophomore transfers? I would imagine that for junior transfers, they play much less of a role, but for admissions, do AP grades matter significantly? My senior year AP grades were pretty poor (a 5, two 4s, two 3s, and a 2), and I was wondering how much this might affect my chances of transferring to competitive schools.

I know APs are self-reported, but isn't neglecting to report them cause for suspicion?

Isn't it your choice whether or not you want to give them your AP score? I know you can do this when applying to schools as a freshman.

Yes they are self-reported. But isn't it somewhat suspicious to not release an AP score?

I wouldn't really say it's suspicious, but it will probably throw up a red flag that you didn't get at least a 3. If you got a 2, I say report it. If you got a 1, then don't.

I transferred to Northwestern this year, and I am just now sending my AP scores. I honestly wouldn't see it as a red flag at all if you don't send AP scores. I mean, if you have good credentials from your high school/previous institution, they are going to assume that you've done AP level work. Really though, I assumed that sending AP scores was something that you do post-acceptance, and in the case of Northwestern, it's something that they process after you've been accepted.

If you're worried, just hold off.
