So I am a sophomore and I will be taking 3 AP's next year (maximum, because school requires other subjects/classes)

I WOULD REALLY APPREACIATE ALL ADVICE

I am looking at

AP Calc AB (definitely)
AP US History (APUSH) (90%)only other choice is AP government andpolitics
AP Physics

I was wondering if I should take AP Biology instead of Physics.
I heard Physics is a lot easier, but both are very useful.

Also Senior Year:

Ap English
Ap Calc BC
Ap Bio/Physics (the one I didn't choose from junior year)
Ap Government and politics (I have to because of requirements)

My school offers

Ap:

Bio
Physics
Envr. Science
Art...haha
Music Theory.....haha
Us History
Gov/Politics
Computer Science
Calcs
Stats

what are your comments??

What are you planning on majoring in once you get to college?

I'd say...

AP US
AP Bio
AP Calc AB

you should wait on AP Physics until taking Calculus a little.

I'd say bio is good deal easier than physics unless you know that your AP physics teacher is really good at lecturing and problem solving. As for taking physics after calc, that's necessary only if you're taking physics C, if you're doing physics B, you don't need to have calc under your belt.

I agree that the Physics B/C distinction is important. If it's B, you will have no problem as far as the actual math involved goes. C uses calculus that you may not have learned yet.

If I were you, I might not want to take AP Calc BC senior year and either take it junior year OR self-study it.

There is a whole lot of topic overlap and all BC covers more (i believe) is vector calc, polar calc, series, l'hopital's rule, and intergration by parts.

My current Calc book covers AB from chapters 1-7, and BC 1-10. So you could potentially free up space senior year by self-studying 3 chapters.

Plus, the Calc BC Test has an "AB subscore," your score on the AB parts of the test, which most colleges treat like the AB test.

SO I would recommend that you take:

AP Calc
APUSH
AP Bio

junior year.
