AP history classes. Hardest to Easiest?

Before I graduate I will have completed APUSH, AP world, and AP Euro hist

Which history class is considered to be the hardest and why? Im taking APUSH and AP world(online) next year.

I’ve only taken APUSH but from what I’ve heard they’re all pretty difficult. However, friends who have taken it have led me to believe that Euro may be the hardest because of the detail (a lot of old maps to understand, a lot of dates and battles to remember, etc.) APUSH and AP World both have surprisingly little focus on specific dates, but in Euro there seems to be a lot.

History is the type of subject that really depends on the teacher. At my school AP world is brutal. Only 4 kids have gotten A’s in almost 5 years of offering the course. Online classes are usually much easier than the actual classes. I have an online honors class and I have a 100 without even trying but I know people in the class in school who are just as smart and are having a harder time. have 2 different APUSH teachers. One is difficult but the other is much easier. They are both good teachers who set you up for the exam but one just gives much less work. Ap European at my school is the easiest. The teacher is super laid back. However I see a lot of kids on CC saying AP euro is the hardest AP at their school. At my school it is world>APUSH>euro. But history really just depends on the teacher.

Haven’t taken Euro or APUSH (taking it next year), but I’ve taken World and I can say that it is probably the easiest.

Even though 10,000 years of history throughout the entire world sounds intimidating, it’s really not. All you really have to know are the very basic points of each civilization. You don’t even have to know specific dates - you just need to know rough time periods. For example, you don’t need to know the date that some obscure country in Africa gained its independence on a certain day on 1985, but you just need to know that states in Africa began to gain independence after World War II. Plus, some of the questions in the exam are really easy - especially the ones where you have to read a map or a graph. You don’t even have to know the answer off-hand - if you can read a map or graph, you can pretty much answer it without any outside knowledge.

The only difficult part of World is that the majority of the history taught is Asian/Indian/African. But the thing is, most of the history you are taught as in elementary/middle school are American and European, which only constitute less than a quarter of the exam. But either way, I’d still say World is the easiest.

At my school it’s US, Euro, then World.

The hardest is APUSH, then APEuro, APWH was the easiest.

Sent from my PC36100 using CC

Different for my school, well maybe more me, it goes AP Euro, and then APUSH (easier for me)

At my school specifically it goes AP Euro then APUSH and we don’t offer AP world
The AP Euro teacher at my school helps create the exam so he pretty much is a euro god which makes the class WAY harder but he has a 98% pass rate for the exam so it evens out.

But anywhere else i hear APUSH then AP Euro then AP world.

and also where are you taking AP World Online?

My school doesn’t have Euro. For us AP World is harder than APUSH, but APUSH has a harder AP exam than World.

Such a question is difficult to answer due to different teaching styles but many people are of the opinion that AP World History is harder than AP European History which is harder than AP US History.

Completely depends on the teacher. The classes don’t HAVE to be very difficult, but some teachers make it harder than necessary.

Completely agree Etuck24.

In terms of the actual ap exam, I’d say ap euro was hardest followed by apush and easiest being world. I’m taking ap art history next year so i can’t give much input on that but it shouldnt be too hard.

At my school, apush>ap world>ap gov in terms of difficulty.

I’ve only taken world so far but I plan on taking the other two. At my school euro is supposed to be easier than world. AP exam wise, AP world produces the worst scores out of the three.

At my school AP World was the hardest because of the teacher, but it may be different where you go to. AP US History was the easiest.

AP US is easier than AP World at my school. AP Euro is an elective that not many people take, but the US teacher teaches it so I’m assuming it’s easy.

I think history APs are easy in general because the exams are so predictable. If you know the information, you’re going to do well. It helps if you’re a fast reader though. ;)

AP World History < AP U.S. History < AP European History < AP Art History

Got a 5 on AP World sophomore year and a 4 on APUSH junior year. Didn’t take the other two.

In my school ap euro is by far the easiest and is seen as a joke for history students, then apush is quite average, but world is the hardest by a landslide-- it also has the lowest exam average out of any test the highest percentile of kids score a 2. Rumor has it one of the ap world teachers at my school is trying to get pregnant to avoid teaching it next year
