Hi guys. I am a current freshman in high school and from what I am hearing on CC is that AP Human Geography is the easiest to self study. I would like to study it and take the test. I have never taken an AP course or test. What prep boom should I use? Also what are the tests like? Should I take the test in May (Problem is I don't have too much time) of this year or study it over the summer and take it May of 2015? Thanks

bump please help!

Human Geography is considered one of the easiest courses, but it’s fairly information-heavy, so I’d be cautious, especially if it’s your first. If you do decide to take it, make sure that you not only know the definitions, but can apply them to real-world situations; brushing up on current events can’t hurt, either, since having adequate examples will absolutely save you on FRQs. I recommend looking over some of the released exams - you won’t know the information, of course, but it will help you get a feel for the format & material to see if you’re quite prepared for it yet.

As far as prep books go, I usually rely on Barron’s, and it hasn’t failed me so far.

Usually the curve is insanely beneficial because of freshmen usually having this as their first AP, and other students commonly self-studying this. A combination of both freshmen and self studying, eh, won’t end well I think.

I mean, you could try, buy a review book and review to see how you do.

If you can take the class, its a joke, and the curve is insane so if you study just a little you’ll prob get a 5.
