Ap Language and Compostion (a question concerning test% and content)

Greetings.

I am going to take the AP lang and comp in about 3 weeks and need major prepping during spring break. So far, I have run into a few questions. I would appreciate it if anyone could offer an answer or input ot the following:

1) What % is needed for MC and combined FR to get a 4 and 5.

2) What is the meaning of a "literary convention of characterization"?

3) How ideal are the Cliffs, Princeton, or Kaplan prep books compared to the actual test?

4) For the essay portion, is there any strategic way to attack the questions with greater efficiency? (For example, allotting 30 mins to essay, 5 mins thinking, 5 mins correcting mistakes)

5) Would it be helpful to recall several books previously read to use in essays?

Thanks.

bump. bump.

3) I think Cliffs is the most useful book of the three because of the practice tests. Other CC'ers seem to agree because it is in Ryan's top list.
