AP Latin Vergil next year?

I just finished up my Latin III course and would like to continue taking Latin. I love the language and I'm a somewhat average translator. I heard that AP Latin Vergil is a very demanding class, more demanding than AP Calculus so I'm not sure if I should take it. It will be my senior year and I will be taking it along with AP Calc AB and AP Stats.

I planned on practicing sight translating this summer so that I would be able to handle the Aeneid. Would it be possible to prepare for AP Latin Vergil in 3 months? I realize we have to translate 1800+ lines and if I got a head start, would that put me a big advantage?

I think it would be possible to do all 1800 lines in 3 months, but very, very difficult. Actually sitting down and translating that much is much harder than the idea of doing it.

I didn’t mean translate all 1800 lines in 3 months. I meant prepare for the AP Vergil class by doing some Latin over the summer like translating some of the Aeneid to get a head start.

Ok. That’s a good idea then, to get a head start over the summer. I took it this year and had to do like 800 lines in one month. Extra time would be real beneficial for this exam.
