Wow I hated having the absolute last AP exam...all in all though, I didn't think it was that bad for me signing up for an AP Class at MIT that started 3 months before the exam, finishing all the passages by translating over only once, not studying any extra vocab, and never seeing a practice exam ever. I didn't do so hot on the multiple choice, but I think I did very well with the open response...at least a 3, maybe a 4 or 5. What'd you all think of your Latin AP exams? (btw I took Virgil)

the multi choice was impossible, translations were medium, frqs easy(ish) in my opinion! i think i got a 3.

I have no idea how I did. FRQs were pretty okay, I slightly remembered the translations (but I’m sure my grader will laugh out loud when s/he reads it), and the multiple choice was a laugh - I only knew 2 questions for sure.

2!

I think I did a lot better than I thought I would. luckily I reviewed the EXACT translation passages last night. >.> lol.

*AP Latin vergil, that is

I think I got a 3 or 4. Then again, I walked out of Literature last year thinking I got a 2 at best and ended up getting a 5. Who knows?

I took the Vergil exam too; the multiple choice was extremely hard.

But then luckily I knew the translations on Part II!!! YES!!! And then the essays were really easy as well, especially the last one.

But, seeing that I probably failed the first part which is 60% of my grade, I’ll be happy to get a 4.

I took the literature exam. The multiple choice was so bad. I remember the passage from 64 and so I think I got most of those. Then I guess on like half the other question (one where I could eliminate an answer or two). I’m hoping I got 40%. The free response I felt was much better, but definitely not great. I think I did better then a 1, probably a 3.

The third MC passage was hard and the long literature essay was not what I was expecting at all. Other than that, it was fine, except I didn’t totally remember the Catullus FR#1 translation.

You do know that multiple choice is only 40%. So…that should be in most of our favors. Yeah the two Virgil translations were easy. I had no clue on any of the MC questions though. Could go anywhere from 2-5.

i took latin lit. and the mc was super harddddddd. we’re not supposed to say whats on it but i shall just say that I HAD NOT STUDIED THAT POEM THE SEEN PASSAGE WAS FROM. ugh.
and then that same exact poem showed up in the frq and i bs’ed that entire thing as well.
and also catullus 76 was the only other catullus poem i didnt study cus it was so long and i really didnt like it and i was just like its a 1/50 chance itll show up so w/e. and then it was on it. gosh. the ovid was better but i thought it was weird they put two amores… id rather it was a myth. the amores translation was ok but i know i missed a few words here and there. the essays, besides the one on 64, were good (that passer one YAYYY and the 3.15 amores one was easy as well, esp since my teacher predicted that)… i was surprised it was pyramus and thisbe… i was almost sure apollo/daphne and pymalion would be on it…

overall… BAD. SO BAD. id be happy with a 3. if i get a 4… the only logical explanation for that is… they scanned the multiple choice wrong. and that even helped me since I GUESSED ON ALL BUT 4 OF THE MC… great

Huh. I took Vergil last year with… fairly little preparation (I took Latin I, then a fake ass Latin III class that sorta did the Aeneid but not really) and thought it was very very difficult (MC really, just mostly the MC because I’d never done sight translating much… and knew no vocab at all, haha), and I got a 3. This year I did Latin Lit (Ovid and Catullus) and thought multiple choice was waaaaay easier than last year (I guessed on maybe… 6 max, and those were narrowed down to 2 answers - I left 2 blank that I had no clue on. I heard some other girls saying they left “11 blank” wuuuuuut) and the FRQ was all right as well. Hmm.

I find it strange that you guys are saying “I couldn’t remember the translation to _____” or whatever - you do realize that the point is NOT to MEMORIZE the translations, RIGHT? Srsly.
