AP Physics 1 Test vs Honors Physics Class

Hi,
Prospective engineering student in high school here. I was wondering if anybody had any thoughts on taking the AP Physics 1 Test without taking the class vs. taking an Honors Physics class and no test. I was hoping to take AP Chemistry next year instead of AP Physics 1 and scheduling conflicts have complicated this. Any thoughts on what admissions would think of not having a physics class but having the test score?

I wouldn’t be too concerned with AP Physics 1. It’s not calculus based so you won’t test out of any of your requirements for engineering. Admissions does not use AP scores for any class in their decision. If you have the option of dual enrollment credit for Chemistry, it goes further than the AP credit does. Good luck.
