I’m currently taking AP Physics 1 in my high school class. I’m pretty much doing extremely bad in the class, with a C (75) in the class. (i probably should have dropped the class knowing the teacher’s extremely bad reputation) and the only chance for an 80 in the class is if I were to somehow get an hundred on the midterm exam.
Does anyone have any advice for how to get a hundred on a midterm for AP Physics 1? (As in books to look at, or topics to focus more on based on prior experience?) I know I need to study, which is what I’m doing, but does anyone know a good direction/place to study. Maybe a good practice test?
Some information about the class:
Textbook:College Physics: Pearson Ektina
Midterm will be on chapters 1-7
I’d also look on Quizlet for AP Physics 1 sets (there are a lot of them). Mostly I think you need to buckle down and study hard. If you aren’t understanding the material, you need a tutor.
if you need help with understand the concepts, get barron’s ap physics 1 book! if you need practice, get 5 steps to a 5!
I believe in you !!! also try to ask your teacher if you can do any extra credit? if he/she is nice
Watch the Khan videos! My AP physics teacher makes them and they are a godsend. They’re awesome because they lack all the fluff from textbooks. I use them to review before every physics test and right now while I’m trying to review for my midterm
Practice, practice, practice… I never bought an actual book, just practiced the heck out of my textbook in sophomore year. Got a 4, and an A (both sems) in the class. Somehow clutched the final with a 90.1% in the very end. Good luck.
I am using the same textbook. Side note: my teacher is hilariously creepy and found out by looking at the photo acknowledgments that one of the photos in the book is Etkina’s daughter. Anyways, I feel like looking through the textbook would be sufficient because your midterm will only be on topics and strategies that your teacher has taught you. Look through past tests and textbook.
