Study Materials for AP Physics 1

This is my first time learning physics and my teacher is absolutely useless. I have the AP Physics 1 Essentials book along w/ the College Physics (8th edition) textbook. And the Boston University’s AP Physics course on edX. Please give me any tips along with review books for the exam. I am trying to get a 4 with a teacher whose passing rate is less than 10%. Any tips will be greatly appreciated.

I was a physics 1 student last year and I’m currently enrolled in physics c.

What was useful for me was actually khan academy’s videos. They are literally dead-on accurate about what you need to know for the exam. Their questions are a little too easy, but they are a good starting point when you have just started learning the topic. Aside from that there are a TON of free resources out there- flipping physics, crash white, etc. What’s most useful for physics is practice, so just do whatever you can find out there on the internet (there’s a lot). Just literally google “____ (topic) practice test” and a ton of good stuff will come up. In fact, FYI, AP Physics essentials (the prep book you mentioned) has a website (aplusphysics) that has a bunch of free practice questions sorted by topic.

Also, regardless of how “useless” your teacher is, you should definitely come to them whenever you have questions. Physics teachers this can have HUGE variations in expectations. I personally had teachers who took marks off for VERY little things, and teachers who couldn’t care less about the details. Make sure you know which type of teacher yours is, because your grade depends on it.

thank you so much, I am terrified of the exam because only 2 people passed it last year at my school.
