AP Physics as a sophomore?

Hello, I was wondering if I should do AP Physics as a sophomore next year as I am a freshman this year. I have already done biology last year and chemistry this year (passed both) and was wondering if it would be a good idea to take AP physics next year. My school only needs 3 science credits so this would be my last science class if I decide that I’m going to AP physics. Either I do AP physics next year and stop doing science classes or I do AP Bio and AP chem junior year and then do AP physics senior year. Currently, as a freshman, I’m doing…

Honors Language Arts 9
AP Human Geography
Trigonometry
Chemistry

And next year I am doing

AP Language Arts
Pre-Calculus
AP Psychology
(Science)

Please help me make this decision!

Which AP Physics is it? If it’s physics I, you should be OK. If it’s Physics C, you need concurrent calculus.

Be aware that some colleges will not count courses taken in middle school and will want to see at least 3 years of science taken in HS.

It is just AP Physics that is the only AP Physics class my school offers, with a pre requisite of trig

Then that is AP Physics 1. If there is no calculus requirement, it’s not AP Physics C.

I know this is not the question you’re asking but I’d be worried about the lack of foreign language. Two years bare minimum is needed in high school and many colleges will want to see three or four. Also, colleges expect to see U.S, history and World or European history.Psychology and AP human geography are fine, but they’re really social studies electives.

AP Physics 1 is more of an entry level/intro Physics course. I’d take that, to finish off the entry level of the big 3 sciences, and then figure out if you’d like to take the AP version of Bio/Chem.

As noted above, hopefully you have have language/history in there, assuming 4 courses isn’t your entire schedule.
