I took Physics B and both C tests... UCSD limits credit for AP Physics to 8 units. Unfortunately, in their infinite wisdom, they chose to give me credit for B instead of C. Consequently, I have to take Physics 2A and 2B (requirements for my major which should be covered by my AP Physics C scores) while I'm given credit for 1A and 1B (completely useless to me).

Anyone else having this problem?

Although this was 5 years ago, they gave me credit for Phys10 (some non-science major physics course) for Physics B AP, and credit for Phys 1A for Physics C AP.

Although it may not be favorable to you taking the class again, at least you’ll have a heads up in Phys 2A/B while a good number of students in your class will not have any exposure to physics. Your (hopefully) A’s will then count towards your GPA, which they wouldn’t had you used AP credit for them.

I think they only give the credit for 1 series because Physics C AP material is sort of between the level of Physics 1 and Physics 2.
