Actually, I'll be taking the SATII for physics in June as well. Anyhow, what are you guys' predictions on the free response questions? I think there's a good chance there'll be an optics + fluids question on there in addition to atomic/nuclear and the usual kinematics. I hope they give us more than 6 questions this year. o.o

I took the SAT II for Physics this morning. It was a breeze, especially compared to the practice tests I took (Princeton Review).

I'm taking AP Physics B on Monday. My only uneasiness at this point is about significant figures. Do you know how strict they are about sig figs on the free response questions?

I heard there's supposed to be 7 questions. And I hope none are on atomic/nuclear physics, I only learned those this week... >.<

they dun care about sig figs in physics b ap

Hm..on Physics they don't care about sigfigs. But generally I know sigfigs only from taking chemistry.

I hope they give us 7 questions..our class hasn't covered atomic physics so I self-studied that one. Not so familiar with it. =( We're also missing a big portion of waves.

I'm worried about really difficult questions. As in, those that are abstract and that we've never seen before. How are you guys preparing right now for it? I've got all my prep books for SAT and AP and I'm flipping through them. What do you suggest?

Edit//Forgot to add..i'm taking AP Physics B on monday, which is tomorrow for me.

Waves are pretty straightfoward. If you have a prep book or something, you can probably get by just by reviewing refraction, double-slit diffraction, and v=lambda*f. Doppler shifts and standing waves will probably come up too, but only about once each, if practice tests are any indication.

I haven't technically done atomic physics either.

No i mean the ones that include equations for diffraction etc...

BTW, how do you study from the Princeton prep book? It's freaking thick. I've only got about half a day ahead of me before it's time to sleep and take the exam. What do you recommend? o.O

How about we all get on msn into one big convo and review together? If you guys are interested let me know..we've all got a couple of hours to go still.

hmm. its not a bad book. I study off of it... let's see how I do XD

Yes but it doesn't have answers to the MCQs or the FRQs at the end of each chapter's prep. What i'm going to do is just go through all the worked out examples.

The multiple choice questions are tough as well. For us our average was around 50% (all our school's Physics B classes) during our mock AP.

Count me in if there's interest...

What's your email? PM me maybe? I'll add you, then as soon as we get a third person we can get this started.

Yeah hopefully there won't be any crazy abstract problems that involve electricity, magnetism, kinematics in one question!

They might do that. They can do anything. X.x

We've got two people. One more person needed then we can get this review started.

I won't mind doing a little "group study session" on MSN... although the difference in time zone is something to think about. Where do you all live?

I live in the US while Quesce lives in Singapore. You?

Well, wazzup has to leave in 15 minutes. The time over here is 12pm Sunday, which means I've got a couple of hours if anyone's interested.

I live on the East Coast of the US, and it's pass midnight for me already...

lol.. same here.. :)

Yeah... hmm, now that I think about it, I think it would be more beneficial for me to go to bed now and wake up tomorrow to get cracking on the PR book.

If there are any sessions tomorrow around noon then I could dedicate about an hour or so to that.

Am going to be online so pm me your msn and ill add you... You going to practice the practice problems from each chapter in PR tomorrow?
