AP Physics B: How do you think you did?

I thought this year's MCQs were easier than the FRQs. What do you guys think? Anyway, I didn't answer about 5 of the MCQs..but the FRQs were hard.

I estimate I probably got either a 3 or a 4 on it. 5 is out of my reach. =( How about for you guys?

not really the mcqs were pretty hard according to my friend and that lab on thermo was a killer he said

I loved the first, second, and last FR, but I did awful on everything inbetween

I must have guessed on 30 of the MC questions...arg

The FR I found to be very easy; the MC was average. I wish I had more time!!

The MC were very similar in difficulty to the released exams. I left five blank and guessed 50/50 on about 6 of them. I found FRQ 1,2,5 extremely easy. I was able to answer all but one part of 4 and 6, but #3 i only got 2 out of the 5 parts. Overall, the test's difficulty was right about where I expected. Hopefully, I'll get a 5

It was a ton harder then I expected. It's probably just because my whole class was unprepared (beyond awful teacher), but I thought almost all parts of it was impossible. The room was in laughter after the multiple choice. Almost comical then, totally not now. Praying for a four.. but I will be pretty joyous for a three also. Heh heh.

I guess that last 30-hr study didn't help me either last weekend. Ah well.

DOUBLE U TEE EFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

I left a **** load of MC blank, sorry I dont like to curse and all but I am very ****ed.. upwards of 15 blank

I also didnt really do the Wave (Angle of Incidence & Angle of Refraction) FR, just put down formulas

I got the others except 1 part of that WEIRD running one

got the 5 baby

mmm I did really bad on MC~ left 20 blank XD I thought the easy stuff was easy and the hard stuff was REALLY hard

I thought the FR was really easy though

I thought the MC was harder than FR. I got a 3 I think. O wells. I needed a 4+ for credit. Screw you all!

I thought I did horrible on both the MC and FR. What a waste of a weekend studying.

Ahhh... I'm surprised my head hasn't exploded yet :D

Haha, I had AP Italian AND AP Physics B today. Italian was a breeze (automatic 5), so it was a good intro to the Physics test.

Ok, Physics MC wasn't CRAZY hard at all. Most of it was definitely doable. I got through the entire MC section and omitted 9 MC questions altogether. I had been cramming the past few nights on every topic up to Thermodynamics (so everything except for E&M, waves, fluid mechanics, and modern/nuclear physics). I didn't feel I needed to review fluid mechanics or nuclear physics. They were both pretty easy on the MC. Too bad I didn't have much time to review E&M b/c they showed up all over the MC! I was doing every other type of question just fine but w/ E&M it just got to the point where I told myself, "OK, I MUST STOP guessing on these questions and I MUST look for types of questions I can actually get points for." :D

Ok, the FR was hard! I think I got MOST of the credit for #1, and one other one, and anywhere from 1/2 to 2/3 of the credit for the others, with VERY LITTLE credit for #2!! I wish I had left some more time aside for #2 (the lab question). AH! It would have been a good # of points under my belt.

Overall I think I got anywhere from a mid/high 3 to a low 4. I'm hoping I got the 4 (b/c I need AT LEAST a 4 for credit @ Princeton), but if I don't get a 4... oh well. I still have Bio to take on the alternate testing day (in 11 days). I'm sure I can get AT LEAST a 4 on the Bio, which gives me hope for some science credit @ college!

If I had budgeted my time better and had been just an overall, smarter/more strategic test-taker, I'm sure I would DEFINITELY have a 4, no question! I think my dumb mistakes and bad timing is going to be the difference between a 3 and 4. Oh well :( lol I'm just glad it's over with!

So, what are you guys doing in AP Physics now that the test is over?

There's going to be a big physics battle against against the Honors and the College Preparatory Physics classes... I think my AP class will enjoy it! :)

Mc Hard + Fr Easy = 5

i agree, mc was hard maybe 45 or so raw, frq easy maybe 60/70

5

Mc was difficult, about 30% harder than the 93 exam, the same as the 98 exam.
FR was a breeze, except for a few stupid/careless mistakes

MC was about average I thought. FR was a piece of cake. Im guessing my average for MC (50, raw) and around 85 on FR (which is about my average, too).

5 is expected.

THere were some very difficult questions on MC, but there were some very easy questions... things you didnt need to know physics to get... balances out to average

I thought 1, 2, and 3 were easy. 4 was a bit troublesome but I think I managed to struggle through it. 5 was a bit confusing, and I wish I had speant more time on it, but I was running so short on time that I just started writing stuff down. I only wrote down 2 formulas for the first 2 parts of the questions, which probably means I only got 1 point for each of those sections.

Question 6, I did not understand at all. I skipped to the last part, and then wrote the most random answers there.

Thankfully, the multiple choice felt easy...but I know better. There probably were some tricks up their sleeves. I did answer 64 out of the 70 questions, and assuming I got 8 wrong...that brings me to a 54? That would be 77%, which is a 5, right? So maybe I can get a 5 here?

At any rate, I think I at least got a 3, which is definitely comforting. The trouble is, I just don't know how I did. :(

Hey confused_student, I feel similarly. I think I got AT LEAST a mid-3 and a low-4 is possible.

Does anyone have a past-year's scoring guide/index?

Is it out of 180 total (with both the MC AND the FR weighted)? I know there was a total of 80 raw points you could earn on the FR and 70 raw points on the MC. Do they each get weighted so that each section = 80 or 90?

If anyone can enlighten me, I'm sure more CCers like confused_student wouldn't be as..... confused. Thanks :)

haha i totally blanked on the second fr about the 100m dash. i missed the part about 11 students so i skipped it, and when i came back to it i didn't have enough time to think about it. in the end, i had only a few things written down. i got at least a 4 but i'm hoping for a 5

I was about to slap the people who were talking about how easy it was and how many no brainers there were because none of it was that easy. For me at least, the MC seemed normal to the practice tests we took, but I just tend to score low on it in general. The FR was easier than I imagined, but still pretty difficult. I couldn't figure out 6 of the subsections, doh'.
