Hello, next year I will be a junior and I am considering taking AP Physics B. However, I am worried that since I have never taken a physics course that I will be in trouble. I will be taking Pre-Calculus Honors next year, btw. So, do you guys think that I can take AP Physics B without hysics Honors or anything?

As far as I know, most people who take AP Physics B haven’t taken Honors Physics. It’s definitely possible, if not the standard.

I took AP Physics B as my first year physics class along with Precalc in my junior year. I got a 5, so you have nothing to worry about :)

AP Physics B was my first-ever Physics class and I did just fine.

same here, 5 also and finished the class with a 93 for the year.

It is completely dependent on the teacher. IF you have a good teacher, and the students usually do pretty well in the class and on the AP exam, you will be fine. Or, if you are good at self studying, you will be fine.

AP Physics B requires no prior physics knowledge, and most people do fine without having ever taken a Physics Honors class or similar before. However, because you’re only taking pre-calculus, you will not be able to successfully take Physics C next year, as it requires a year of calculus, usually taken concurrently with Physics B.
