So I took AP Physics B because our school is offering it for the first year. It has only been two days of school, but I can see my teacher is not going to be sufficiently teach the course to ensure me a 5. What prep book for this course is best? In the book stickied thread, it says PR is, but is this more for review, or is it actually possible to LEARN the physics from this book? PLEASE HELP!

I hear if you got the time, Barron’s is the way to go. But I also hear Barron’s isn’t very good with Physics B

I am taking Physics B as well, I am planning on PR.

Kaplan has a great review book for physics B. Apparently it is lackluster on its C material, but its B stuff is great.

are there any good classes to self study ap physics b from?

Barron’s has an annoying habit of having incorrect answers in science prep books. I liked the Princeton Review book for physics B, personally.

From what I’ve read on here, 5 Steps to a 5 and PR are the best books for Physics B.

is physics by giancoli a good book for physics self studying?

I’ve heard bad things about Giancoli’s book. You’re trying to study physics B, right? Cutnell has a good algebraic physics book with answers to every conceptual example and every odd-numbered problem. There’s also a website where he chose to work out some of the hardest problems or work out a similar problem. Finally, the problems have a huge range of difficulty, allowing students to practice and improve. I highly recommend it.

rofl that was the textbook i got for a physics class i took this summer!
would it also be good for physics c, or just b?

It would definitely be awful for C, considering that there’s no calculus in it (besides a brief definition of instantaneous velocity and acceleration). Try Serway for C.
