i took AP physics B last year, got a 5, took SATII, got a 790

between now and may, i'm gunna self-study AP physics C: mechanics.

which book? (review book preferably, any great textbooks?)

Halliday, Resnick, Walker is a great textbook

"University Physics" great textbook

Don't forget Barron's study guide. Those really help with review for the exam (especially since you have already taken B).

princeton review has a great prep i highly suggest you check out

barrons was ****.. 100%.... i bought it.. i self studied the c exam using pr review.

Ok, is it possible to self-study Mechanics in such a short portion of time? Crap... I dind't start yet, and am self-studying Calc BC, AP Euro, and AP Chem... And I also need to prepare for AIME and CHem Olympiad... But I really want it in for RSI.

Barron's is huge. If you already have prior knowledge and Calc basics, you'll be able to get through it fine.

Mechanics is pretty easy. Make sure you know rotational motion pretty well.

the barron's book was terrible. i didn't understand most of it and it turned out i didn't need to know most of it. all it did was scare the hell out of me a few weeks before the exam. however good it may be as a physics review book, it's definitely not a good AP review book. on the other hand, Princeton Review's book was really good preparation for the exam. Thanks to PR, i was able to get a 5 on both mechanics and e&m. <= I sound like a salesman, lol. but seriously, i don't like barrons, try PR. Also caution: physics C is not for the light of heart. it was torture and before i took physics i thought it would be my major, but now, i abhor physics and i don't want anything to do with it.

Hmm maybe I'll go buy the PR book too. The barrons is EXTREMELY long which I don't particularly like

However, the PR book was super skinny and that kinda made me unsure when looking through it. Barrons is loaded with practice problems.

I took it last year and we used PR in class. The review is insufficient as a self study i think, but it is an effective supplement. The problems and stuff are good. btw meng was the name of my cat in indonesia. totally random i know.

Meng:
Between PR and Barron's, isn't PR the thicker book?

catch-22 is great

No, trust me Barrons is about 700 pages worth of very difficult physics problems
