On FRQ, if you get the same answer but use a completely different process, will you get the points?
Also, while 55% = 5 on most years, do you think calculator will change the curve?

@tau628 I think I’ve seen solution guidelines where they have something called “alternate solution” or something, that goes through the problem through another process, and still gives points.
As far as calculator and curve, I really hope the calculator doesn’t change the curve
Also, now that we are less than 24 hours away from the exam, I think it would be a good time to perhaps start predictions about the frqs. What do you guys think we will get, judging from past frq releases and/or gut feelings?
@tau628 judging by the fact that the percentage of those getting a 5 seemed to increase slightly last year, I don’t think it has changed, or at least not much.
I saw alternate solutions. I was just wondering if it was ok to mix alternate solutions (like use rotations for one part and f=ma for another, etc)
Hopefully they will accept either way!
@alphabetatrig i feel like it’s time for a gravitation/orbits frq
Do we have to know derivations for the E&M test? If so, how important are they?
Also, does anyone have any tips for studying for the E&M test in general? I self-studied, and the number of equations is a little overwhelming. Is it sufficient to just memorize them?
Are there any important formulas on Mechanics that aren’t on the equation sheet?
I feel confident of getting a solid five. I suck at frqs and get about 25-30 total. But i love multiple choice and get about 25-30. Its not a solid five, but all i need is a four. School gives no credit for fives
I’m hoping they don’t give us a circuit question on the E&M FRQs-- at least not one with inductors, as that’s my weakest area in E&M I think, but I am feeling confident for a 5 anyhow.
So is the equation sheet accessible on the MC as well?
@picuberoot yeah same. I’m not too good at those, uh oh.
Anyone else got any predictions for frqs?
Seems kinematics is never on there. Forces is usually there.
Momentum combined with energy.
Maybe rotation since thats always the hardest.
Im hoping for shm, energy, and gravity.
I don’t mean to be annoying, but can someone please tell me if the equation sheet is available on the MC too.
@bebitz i believe so
I predict we will have Work and Energy, SHM, and Gravitation,
What source has best frq? Pr is lowkey hard, ap released is good but kinda easy.
Wrote the international mechanics exam. It was fine but there was time constraint on both the sections. I had to leave the last free response half way through and had to guess the last 3 mcqs. Otherwise it wasn’t that bad tbh but sure 5 minutes extra on both sections should be given.
East coast, how’s the mechanics?
it was ok until I got to the last frq problem. Lol. I feel like I did so bad but I only need 55% to get a 5 so…
