AP physics without honors physics

I signed up for honors physics but due to a scheduling conflict I had to either drop it or sign up for AP Physics since I had another scheduling conflict with AP French Lit. AP physics was pretty much the only AP I haven't taken yet so I decided and it seems like a fascinating subject.

However I haven't taken honors physics at my school and am naturally anxious about the course. I've been asking people who've taken it and they've said it wasn't too difficult but then again they took honors physics. I spoke with my teacher and he says it's feasible since first semester is generally just a review of honors physics but with more application.

Are there any books that I could get to independently study so I can keep up with the class? I'm thinking of getting a barrons ap exam review book, any other suggestions? At this point I don't know if I'm planning on taking the exams...

I don't know about any review books, but I'm taking AP Physics B this year and I didn't have any physics/chem courses.

I took Physics B without any physics before it. I did OK (A in the class and 4 on the exam). There isn't even an Honors physics at my school so everyone just go straight into AP physics. I think Princeton Review's better. Barron's confused me a lot and it had many typos.

Good luck.

It depends. For my school, we just start from the beginning of AP Physics. That's been working for me (albeit, I've taken normal physics as a freshman).

i took AP Physics B as my first ever physics class last year and got A's / 5 on the AP / 790 on SAT. It's definitely doable as long as you have a strong grasp of trigonometry
