AP Physics

I am currently choosing classes for my junior year and have them mostly planned out. We may only have 8 classes (full schedule), and I am wondering whether to take AP Physics or AP Environmental as my AP science next year. I am scared to take AP Physics because I know the teacher is hard but I know the AP Environmental Science teacher is easy. I also know that AP Environment won’t look as good for college though. Any help?

-AP Physics or AP Environmental Science

Who do you want to be when you finish school? Your schedule isn’t very math/science oriented so I think you should take ap env sci

Have you already taken Physics? Most selective colleges want one year each of bio, chem, physics.
What colleges are you aiming for?

West Point, Naval Academy, South Carolina, Virginia, and Virginia Tech @MYOS1634 I want to major in Business, but get some years in the military as well. @maxim2001

Take Physics and replace accounting with AP CS principles or some sort of computing.

The only thing is that I’m afraid of my GPA/grades dropping because I take physics (I have no experience with physics and you can’t just start at the AP level of something you have no experience with). @MYOS1634 I want to take accounting and AP CS Principles

I believe that is a senior year course at my school though

Can’t you take honors physics instead of AP…and then maybe take AP environment during senior year ?

I’d go for AP Phys. 1. (not C) It’s the intro-level course, and you’ll get a higher weighted GPA/course rigor out of it (if that’s important to you).

It’s up to you if you think you can handle the material. All of the people I know have either taken AP Physics 1 or C right off the bat, with no previous experience.

Regular physics or AP physics 1 or honors physics don’t require students to have taken physics before. College physics WILL expect you to have taken and done well in one of these three.
AP physics 1 (NOT C!) is algebra-based and should be doable based on the rest of your schedule.

I know. My point is that when you try something new, you don’t start out at the hardest level or at the top (common sense). @MYOS1634

I want to take algebra based AP Physics but probably during my senior year, if I take many AP’s next year
