Are the Sparknotes review kits any good?

Never tried Sparknotes. Though Five Steps to a 5 is mind-numbing at times, it gets the point across and the job done. Did get a 5 [not with the Five steps, but I guess that’s negligible…who knows, eh] on AP Language with that handy dandy book. Highly reccomend it for self-study or going over a subject generally.
I heard Sparks was good for AP Lang too, though. Sort of went off on a tangent. Hope I helped a little. heh.

Depends on which AP course it’s for.

Just as a general overview, but if you want specific classes, i was wondering for AP World, Bio, and European History

Cliffs Notes is really good for bio.

[Amazon.com: A National AP Scholar’s Guide to AP Exams](http://www.amazon.com/A-National-AP-Scholar-s-Guide-to-AP-Exams/lm/R1GT1NWSSKOKIQ/ref=cm_srch_res_rpli_alt_2)

This person on Amazon made a list of books that are particularly good in individual subjects. I dunno if it’s entirely accurate for all of them but at least it’s a start.

^ to me it looks pretty accurate. There is some dispute about Chem. Barron’s overprepares. I think a self studier would want to go with that. If you don’t want overpreparation, PR is good. I would also go with Barron’s over PR for physics.

I have an AP world sparkchart. I was planning on spending a weekend with my book and wikipedia, writing down the main facts of WH. It gives me all of the stuff, so now I get my weekend. I recommend it. And, I have Barron’s for WH as well.

^
What about re-reading the Zumdahl book?

^Rereading textbooks is usually not recommended for review. They usually have too much filler. I have a little bit of text from Zumdahl and I’ve seen the book (but never actually opened it. LOL, opening chem textbooks) and it looks like it has filler.

^
Does reading the chem textbook actually help for the class itself? It seems like it doesn’t…
