Just bought the AP Psych Crash Course because I heard good things about it but there are things that were not mentioned in the Barron’s book (I read through it and are taking condensed notes from the notes I took before) in Crash Course. Should I memorize?

How specific and detailed are the questions? What kind of questions will be asked? I heard that the questions will be very vocabulary-like, and I don’t know how much that will be because I’m so used to questions being analytical and main-idea-like (I’m an APUSH and AP World gal). I wouldn’t need to memorize every neurotransmitter or location of each lobes, right?

Eeeek!

eeeeeeeeeeek two days left!

Triple eek!!! I didn’t know there was stuff barons didn’t cover!!!

Like, it’s on very trivial things, not new concepts!
i.e. Crash Course has more neurotransmitters and lists more functions of the left hemisphere and right hemisphere.

yeah I am really going to fail because idk most of what you just said…

lol all nighters till 11 o’ clock on Monday!

i haven’t taken it, but if the multiple choice is anything like what we’ve been doing in class, you will have to know more of the technical stuff, it’s much less big picture than the histories. essays too, you’ll have to know specific terms. if you look at the past frqs, you’ll see that there’s a lot of “define and provide a specific example of these terms” kind of thing.

from what i’ve heard, make sure you get the biological aspect down, as that’s a decent portion. that’s just straight memorization, know neuron stuff, neurotransmitters, major brain parts and functions (thalamus, hypothalamus, amygdala, etc.). theories are important too, know who goes with what. know the key points and corresponding therapies that go with each for sure, though you’d probably be able to get away with slightly more general stuff here. make sure you have all of the disorders down too, those are easy memorization. the majority is apparently mainly more straightforward know-your-vocab types of questions, and about 30% is the more application-based questions.

it just registered that the exam is monday, i’m so screwed haha. i’m glad i took the class, easy a and i know i’d be in the same boat as all of you self-studiers who are cramming. good luck!

^^Hey speaking of which join my [thread=1138262] all nighter thread[/thread]

@Dizzying thank you so much for the valuable info! i figured but i didn’t know how much or for sure. ahahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. biological stuff is my weakest link. oh well. sucking it up.

@ZombieDante girl (though i’m not sure if you are…ahah), i’m gonna be busy studyin’!
