I’m a bit bummed this isn’t here yet, and I really hope I’m making it in the right place.

I’m super psyched for this class–can anyone who’s taken the test before give a basic rundown of the areas covered? I know the AP class only covers a small portion of the psychology fields.

Got a 5.
Long term studying: Prioritize Barron’s over your textbook when studying.
Short term studying: REA Crash course psychology PDF format is online so use that

Additional notes:
Lots of vocabulary so start making flashcards at the beginning of the year! Don’t wait until a month before the exam to cram.
Reading the prep book is pretty much all I did and I got a 5. My summer homework was to make flashcards for the important people and key terms so I carried that habit over untill the end of my course.

Me too! I will be taking AP Psych this year as well, however because of my school schedule I don’t start taking it until mid-January. It’ll be interesting to see how they fit it into only a semester.

Alas, the only AP social studies class DD could fit into her schedule was AP Psych with the really bad teacher. Just a few days into the class it is incredibly obvious she will learn more about his family than any material that might show up on the test. The only benefit is placing out of the class in college - but looks like she will need a 5 for that. Should be very possible - she got 5’s on much harder tests - but she will need to self-study. @donteatacat - you mentioned Barrons and REA… will those work well in her situation and does anyone else have any other suggestions?

Barron’s will get her an easy 5 nothing else is really necessary except maybe some old practice multiple choice tests she can find online

I noticed that no one has created a thread for this yet. The test is in a week. How prepared are you guys and how many pts out of 150 do you will will be needed for a 5? It was 112 in 2007 and 105 in 2004, but i have heard of curves as low as in the 80s.
nah that’s on a really rough curve. if you get 70% MC you should be almost guaranteed a 5, but you really need to score 60+ on MC as long as you do fairly decent on the FRQs.
