Ap Psych without previous knowledge

Is it possible to take this course without any background info? i wasn't able to take psych 1 this year as a sophomore, so that rules out the possibility of psych 2.... So in my junior year could i be successful with this course? My school has no prerequisites for AP Psych... so i was just wondering

*sorry if this was a rant

I don't see why not. I'm self studying it without any previous knowledge either.

definitely. psych is the easiest AP course... everyone in my school takes it with no background knowledge whatsoever, and there were 10 4s/5s last year.

Absolutely. I plan on taking AP psych next year, my junior year, and I have no formal education in it. I’ve actually taken a practice AP test and gotten a four - it’s pretty easy, I promise.

Psych itself I believe is kinda a rare course at high schools, so the vast majority of those taking AP are going into it without having been previously exposed to it.

I took AP psych this year without a prerequisite course… it’s easy.

I self-studied AP Psych this year (sophomore) without ANY knowledge at all. I used Barron’s, and a lot of my friends that took Psych I and II at my school pretty much only used Barron’s as well.

Yeah, I agree with everyone else. I think the psych test is fair, though the curve is probably harsh because of it. I took AP Psychology this year without any background knowledge, and I THINK I did fine on the test. Good luck!

it was basically a self study course for us… out of the 14 barrons chapters, we learned probably around 5-6 during the course of a whole year in class… i saw+studied the other 8 the night before the ap exam and i thought it was pretty good

plus the only prereq in our school is like a B- or better in previous history classes and decent writing skills

Yeah you probably could. From what I’ve heard it’s just a more detailed general psych course. So basically it would just be more in depth than a normal psych class.

Barron’s and a day or two to study = 4 or 5
