Next year (Senior year) I will be taking at least the following classes:

AP English Literature
AP Calculus BC
Physics
Gym
Genetics/Anatomy (two half year courses)

Beyond that, there is little I can do at my school (it is a small school with very limited offerings). I have already taken AP Biology, AP European and US History, and AP Latin. I have also already taken five years worth of history classes (including senior year economics and civics) and thus have depleting the department's offerings.

It is possible, however, for me to arrange for some type of independent study with a former teacher in the AP or two of my choice.

Thus, I was wondering what might be the best way to use this opportunity for independant study. I have had good experiences with the history department. The math department is also pretty good. Our science department is far more questionable. Though I personally am more interested in science, I think I would learn more if I took an AP or two with the history department. Plus, I think it might look bad if I don't take any history-like course senior year (even though I have taken basically everything they have to offer). What are your thoughts?

If you want a real challenge... try Art History. If you take World History the credits will probably overlap with your other History AP's so Art would essentially be more useful. Environmental Science is another interesting AP to self study.

You could take classes from a local community college - in terms of admissions, it would definitely show that you challenged yourself as much as possible.

Art History is NOT useless. There are many colleges that require an Arts credit in order to graduate. If you don't want to bother with a crap class in college that won't be of any use to your major, take Art History. It depends on the individual school, but definitely look into it.

iwasnotatypo, how is Art History less useful than Human Geography, Psychology, Environmental Science, or even World History? There are many colleges that award more credit for Art History over these other "cake" AP's.
