How prestigious would an AP Scholar Award with Distinction look on a college application? 4 of the APs will be self-study (AP World - 4, AP Human Geo - 4, and AP Comp Gov and US Gov, which I’m taking this year) and 1, APES, will be in school.
(I’m on track to be a National AP Scholar by the end of Senior year, but I’ll only have 5 AP scores back before graduation)
Here’s the way I look at it – this award is only telling colleges what they already know, isn’t it? Namely, that you’ve taken lots of APs and gotten high scores. “AP Scholar Award with Distinction” is really just a quick way to list off how well you’ve done. So the question isn’t how prestigious the award is, but how prestigious your transcript/APs are – which, of course, really depends on the context of your environment.
